Meet the psychologists

Domen Pardo MSc.

Originally from Slovenia, I lived in Czechia from the age of ten and after completing international education there, I moved to the Netherlands to study psychology. I completed both my Bachelor's and Master's studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam, specializing in Clinical Psychology. Having found myself interested in addiction, I wrote my Bachelor’s thesis on the topic of alcohol use. Later, I carried out research on MDMA use and its connections to personality characteristics. Additionally, I previously worked in a psychiatric clinic, gaining experience with addiction and other mental health struggles. On top of the services I provide at Free Mind, I’m currently also employed as a psychologist at Wijnhaven GP practice. I am based in Rotterdam and provide therapy in English, Slovenian, and Serbo-Croatian.

In my sessions, I provide a space for open and honest communication, where we work collaboratively to help you process the past, problem-solve the present, and prepare for the future with goals and expectations. I am there to support you through tough life situations, help you reflect, and teach you skills to cope with both your internal and external struggles. Together, we deconstruct life patterns and explore the possible causes. We work to replace unhelpful coping strategies with more positive ones. We also explore the connections between your thoughts and emotions and their origins. I help you change your thinking to become more realistic and positive, as well as to deal with negative emotions.

“I had horrible anxiety and troubles with concentrating at work. I still have these problems but they’re now way more under control thanks to my therapy sessions. Domen helped me find what drives my anxiety and helped me learn to deal with the symptoms. Absolutely recommend him to anyone dealing w mental health problems.

“Domen was nonjudgmental and he made me feel comfortable to talk about my insecurities. Was very satisfied with the outcome. Very professional.”
